Last day of chemo!

Payton you did it little guy! Today was your last day of that nasty chemo! How did we ever make it through this? I am so proud of you for being so brave today and always!

Chad got up this morning and packed Payton’s Car’s back pack with toys. Payton couldn’t wait to show Dr. Heym his back pack when we arrived at the clinic. Payton screamed down the hall; “Dr. Heym, come and see my back pack.” Everyone at the clinic cheered for Payton as he finished his last dosage of chemo.

We are due back on Wednesday for Payton’s CT scan. I told Dr. Bowman, you know how I worry about these things, so the minute that you see the results PLEASE, CALL ME. Dr. Bowman would like Chad and I to meet with him next Friday (a week from today), to discuss what to expect with Payton over the next two years as far as scans and tests. How do you begin to thank the guy that has helped your child fight cancer? Dr. Bowman has been great, and we’ve appreciated how focused and concerned and on top of things that he has been. It will be a great and an emotional visit as we wrap things up.

For now, Payton is glad to be home. We are still to be cautious with him, since his counts will drop a bit after going off of his GCSF shots? Also, the chemo drug he received can cause him to feel achy. A couple more weeks and we should be able to resume back to a normal life. We can hardly wait!

Hiding from his nurse!
Our last dosage of chemo!

Payton told his nurse to give Caillou a noodle too!

Take that noodle out!
