A fun day spent with Payton at the Shrine Circus..
We received some free tickets for the circus, so Payton and I decided to take the morning and go. We had a great time. Payton actually found it more fascinating that the animals pooped on the ground than anything else. Payton would say those animals should go poop on the big boy potty and not on the ground. Maybe it’s because we are still in the potty training phase. It was a fun event to get out and spend some quality time with him. Payton is busy as ever and has not let this surgery slow him down much at all. I guess I should have expected that since two days following his nephrectomy he was busy in the play room. He really must have a high pain tolerance.
Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future.

My two great kids!
I am a mother of two wonderful children whom I absolutely adore and cherish every moment that I get to spend with them. We have had a rough year, one that has been a test of our faith but we have learned how to rely on each other. We all have such a close relationship because of what we have endured together.
Savannah
Our sweet little Savannah is 9 yrs old. She is getting ready to start 4th grade. Savannah is a peacemaker, is tender hearted and always concerned about the feelings of others. She is a great helper and always willing to do anything you ask her to do. We are so blessed to have her be a part of our family.
Payton
Payton is our sweet little boy that has tugged on our heart strings and made our faith grow strong. Payton was a happy normal 2 year old little boy old when he started running a low grade fever, which eventually lead to the discovery that he had a rare kidney tumor (Wilm's Tumor) on June 1st, 2007. Payton was diagnosed as stage 2, unfavorable histology (diffuse anaplasia) in his right kidney. He has undergone a radical nephrectomy, radiation and chemotherapy. At Payton’s 2 year after treatment checkup they found a growth on his liver. We were extremely scared. Payton underwent another major 10 hour surgery in April of 2010. We were so relieved to find out that the spot was benign. The spot was an iron deposit left over from his multiple transfusions. What a relief and blessing.
Payton is doing great and will continue to have scans every 3 months for the next 3 years. We are staying very optimistic and love our little boy more than words can say. Payton has been a brave and courageous trooper through all of this. We are constantly reminded every time we look at him what a little miracle and true blessing he is to our family. We are so grateful that he is a part of our lives.
