A fun day swimming!

We had a fun day swimming since Savannah is finally starting to recover from her stomach bug. The kids had a great time and Savannah is counting down her last few days of summer, she wasn’t very happy to spend the week being sick.

Payton’s love for Speed Racer

We asked Payton what he wanted to do with some of his money from the pirate treasure chest. He quickly replied that he wanted his own Speed Racer Movie. Up to this point we have been renting the DVD with old cartoon episodes and he gets so upset when we have to return it. We went to Wal-Mart to buy the movie and Payton ran around the store saying “vroom, vroom I’m a fast race car.” Since then Payton has mastered the DVD player. At the age of 3 he has figured out how to put speed racer in the DVD player, turn on the TV. and push the play button. A few times we have had to take it out and clean it since he often has sticky hands.

On Monday we decided to go to the movie Speed Racer, he was so excited to go, he actually fell asleep part way through since we went during his nap time, so we will have to see it again.

Savannah has picked up a stomach bug this week and hasn’t been feeling well, so that is about all that we have done. She is looking forward to feeling well, so she can do a few more fun things before school starts.

I can’t seem to stay on top of things!

My sister is working this weekend, so I had her 3 kids on Friday night. I was busy in my bathroom trying to get it cleaned and Savannah comes running in “you better come quick mom.” I walked into my kitchen and found Payton and Ella both 3 yrs of age on the floor eating snacks in a pile of everything that once used to be in my cupboard. When I asked Payton what are you doing buddy he replied “Me and Ella needed a snack,” so you had to empty the whole cupboard, hu? That cupboard was really in need of a good cleaning anyway, so I got to work and put everything in order. It took some time and about the time I was finishing up, Savannah calls again “Payton and Ella have striked again.” I head upstairs to find that they had emptied his whole book shelf and a bunch of toys, certainly not to read the books, but purely because it is more fun to throw them. What makes me laugh is neither one of them by themselves would do this, but you get the two of them together and it’s amazing what they can accomplish or should I say destroy. I just feel like I can’t seem to stay on top of things; I try to accomplish something and it back fires and I have another mess to clean. As strange as it sounds; how can I complain? I love being able to watch Payton be himself again, even if it does mean that I have more to pick up.

3 Joys in my life;


My Kids; they are EVERYTHING to me and I love them so much

Losing any of my family members


CT Scans, MRI’s and Ultra Sounds (can you tell what I have been doing this past year?)


Payton’s Cancer returning and having the rug slipped from underneath us again. It terrifies me to think about having to watch my little guy go through this all over again


3 Goals I have;


Be more Christ-like. More kind, patient, give more service and to be more observant of people going through trials in their life


Raise my kids to be more Christ-like


Volunteer at the hospital and help families that are going through a crisis (possibly back to nursing school)


3 Current obsessions;


My kids and spending quality time with each of them individually


Baking (Did I mention that I love chocolate)

3 Things that you might not know about me;

I am a shop-a-holic (especially for a good bargain) maybe I should make it one of my goals to not shop so much

I used to do night audit at a hotel until one night I was robbed while being 5 months pregnant with Payton

I am a neat freak; I actually spend more time deep cleaning than I do surface cleaning

Happy 10th Birthday Noah!

Today is my nephews 10th Birthday and we went to the Pizza Garden to celebrate. Payton and Ella enjoyed sharing cake or should I say blue icing. It was great getting together and the kids had a great time.

Happy Birthday Noah, We Love You Buddy and are so glad that we were able to celebrate this special day with you.

Another fun week

I can’t believe another week has passed and that we are already into the first of August. It was a great week spent with my kid’s; activities for the week consisted of: Lunch at BK, Jump for Fun, Bowling, Swimming, and my favorite sleeping in and naps. I don’t know what it is but time with my children means everything to me. I spend so much of my day watching Payton and feeling so blessed that I have him with us. If I ever get upset at him I quickly remind myself to what he was doing last year I only have to think of him hooked to an IV pole, horrible extended stays (which I will never be able to put into words how hard they were), or watching them put chemo into his little body. It quickly helps me put the things in my life into perspective. Does it take something like this to change our outlook on life? Because I know that I wouldn’t be watching my kids so intently and cherishing every moment with them if I hadn’t been through something like this. It has forever changed my heart and me as a person to what kind of person and mom that I want to be.

This evening we took the kids to IHOP since Savannah decided that she wanted chocolate chip pancakes for dinner. We all sat around the table laughing at Payton. He’s got quite a sense of humor and had us all cracking up. Thank goodness we were stuck in the corner. After dinner we made a trip into Albertsons where Payton informed us that he wanted to rent Speed Racer for the3rd time. Every time Payton sees a Red box machine now he starts saying “I want to see speed racers.” It has to be one of the dumbest cartoon shows that I have seen, but what can I say, 1 ½ hrs of peace and quiet to get something done. Payton watches this so intently that I think he only blinks a couple of times during the whole show. I love it.

Watching Payton recover

Do you remember watching your kids when they were a baby? Watching all of their little features? Well that’s how I feel with Payton as I watch him recover. I spend so much time watching him especially when he’s sleeping because I feel like I am seeing a brand new little boy as he recovers. Payton’s hair is so soft it feels like a little baby duck I love to rub it, and his cute cheeks, hands, feet and body, and face are finally filling out again and it’s great seeing his eyebrows and eyelashes filling in so nice. I feel as if I have a new little baby all over again watching him recover.
